Which membership type fits your firm?

Please read the different membership levels in TSLA and then select the one that fits your firm.


  Voting Member

Qualifications
  • TDI Licensed Surplus Lines agency, or non-resident licensed Surplus Lines agent who has an office in Texas.
  • The firm must have been in business for two (2) years.
  • The firm must have at least $2 million in annual premium volume.
  • The firm must be principally engaged in the placement of business from unaffiliated agents.
  • The firm must have two (2) current Voting members sponsor their membership.

  Provisional Member

Qualifications
  • If your firm does not meet the two (2) year requirement for Voting or the $2 million in premium volume, then your firm would complete the Voting membership application but be approved for Provisional membership until those qualifications are met by your firm.

  Affiliate Member

Qualifications
  • Any company approved to do business in the State of Texas as a Surplus Lines insurance carrier or
  • Any admitted company that works with Surplus Lines agents to distribute their insurance policies or
  • Any MGU agent appropriately authorized to do business in the State of Texas
  • Must have one (1) Voting member provide a sponsorship letter.

  Associate Member

Qualifications
  • Any firm licensed a non-resident Surplus Lines agent without an office located in Texas.
  • Any firm that has a direct interest in the Surplus Lines industry or would contribute expertise to those engaged in the Surplus Lines industry.
  • Must have one (1) Voting member provide a sponsorship letter.
